SukiShufu is a design focused, contemporary yoga brand. The label was born out of the need for more choice in the market for yoga accessories and apparel, especially those required by Bikram Yoga teachers and students. Caroline is a certified Bikram yoga teacher.
'Suki' is a Japanese word that can be used to mean 'I like' or 'favorite' and it is also a feminine name.
'SukiShufu' refers to Suki the 'housewife'. SukiShufu represents a new identity and a new start for Caroline; after being made redundant she found herself in the new role of homemaker and housewife and it was in this role that she began generating ideas for the brand and its identity.
In researching the name she was intrigued to read articles about today's modern housewives in Japan. No longer bound by their traditional subservient roles, they seek exciting entrepreneurial opportunities, trade the financial markets from home and are increasingly involved in national politics all whilst still running their households.

About Caroline White
The founder of Suki Shufu, Caroline White, is a certified Bikram Yoga teacher. Caroline trained under Bikram Choudhury and now comes to market with a range that is inspired by her love of the yoga and fashion.
“For fourteen years I worked in London as an Investment Banker working long and stressful hours, my life became work focused and very out of balance. Redundancy forced me to re evaluate my life and my priorities, it also gave me the time to take a yoga class!” It was in these classes that she began to develop ideas and plans for her new label Suki Shufu.
“It was clear to me that the market lacked choice and stylish options, especially in Europe, which was both surprising and frustrating”. Having spent many years in active, dance and swimwear (she represented Australia in gymnastics), Caroline has an acute understanding of the importance of quality and function required in products in this market. She has combined this experience with her love of fashion to develop her chic range of yoga accessories and luxurious kit bags under her label Suki Shufu.
